Leaving family and friends behind in Minnesota, Tyra Rudrud made the decision to head west with a destination goal of Vail, Colorado. Her original intent was to spend one year in the mountains, however, a deep love of access to year-round outdoor activities has led to a lifetime Colorado commitment.

The world was opened to Tyra through her parents who owned an incentive travel company. She learned at a very early age the rewards of providing excellent service to clients while accompanying her parents on trips throughout the world. Tyra functioned in a number of capacities, sales, development of programs and trip directing. It was not long before clients requested Tyra to oversee their travel programs based upon her cheerful nature, willingness to find solutions to problems and general demeanor.

After graduating from St. Catharine's College, St. Paul, Minnesota in 1995, Tyra worked with an international firm and was involved in the development of national as well as international marketing programs.

In 1997 Tyra joined Sonnenalp Real Estate (then Tofferi-Faessler Real Estate) as an office manager. When the Austria Haus Club was completed in 1999 Tyra helped develop a rental program and assisted owners with rentals of their units. The real estate business so intrigued Tyra that she decided to make this industry her career, receiving her real estate license in 1998. After the initial years of learning the business Tyra decided it was time to become a full time realtor and is now working in that capacity.

Vail Valley is now her permanent home. Tyra and her husband Peter were married in Beaver Creek in July of 2001. They built a home in Eagle Ranch which they share with their sons Mason, and Brock and Black Lab, Riley.

Tyra has made it her business to carefully study all aspects of Vail Valley real estate.
