John has been a real estate professional in the Vail Valley since Vail’s infancy. Indeed, when he moved to Vail with his young family over 30 years ago, he was one of only 28 full time real estate professionals in the area. At that time, there was no Avon, no Beaver Creek, no Bachelor Gulch and “down valley” was a synonym for “too far to drive”.

Things have changed a lot in the Vail Valley and over the years John has participated in well over $800,000,000 in residential, commercial and complex transaction sales. He has helped literally 100’s of buyers and sellers meet their dreams and goals. John has always considered education to be the critical item in providing service to his clients and he holds the GRI (Graduate, Real Estate Institute), CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) and CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) designations from the National Association of Realtors.

John’s long career and firm belief in continuing education has enabled him to become adept in all kinds of complex real estate transactions and both commercial and residential applications. He has closed numerous IRS Section 1031 exchanges, large local and national commercial deals, and, of course hundreds of resort residential transactions in the Vail Valley and throughout Colorado. He has developed over 20 local residential properties and has consulted on many more.
